How the number is built
Ten technicians saving fifteen minutes a day is 2.5 hours a day — roughly 550 hours over a service year. Half that adoption still lands inside the 250–500 range. The effect scales with headcount: a 25-person team reaches the same gain at six minutes a day.

About this research
Synthesised from our conversations with more than 300 installation companies — owners, service managers and technicians. Companies named multiple bottlenecks, so the percentages do not add up to 100%.
57%
technical information is hard or slow to find
The answer usually exists — in a manual, a portal or a mailbox. Finding it takes longer than the repair itself.
48%

One or two seniors carry the knowledge the whole team leans on, and they get called all day.
33%

The office absorbs every question the field cannot answer, on top of planning and customers.

FAQ

The questions we get asked most.

Why not just use ChatGPT or Google?
ChatGPT and Google are built to answer almost anything, from an open internet that was never checked against the appliance in front of you. Manuel is built specifically for technical installation and service work. It combines manufacturer documentation, product data and your own company knowledge, and provides answers with the technical source behind them.
How can technicians trust Manuel’s answers?
Manuel grounds answers in verified technical information and shows the original source and page reference where available. That means technicians can verify an answer instead of relying on a black-box AI response.
Is Manuel only useful for faults and error codes?
No. Manuel supports the questions technicians encounter throughout the job: faults, parameters, manuals, schematics, parts, maintenance procedures and practical company knowledge.
What happens when Manuel doesn’t know the answer?
We would rather show that knowledge is missing than invent an answer. Unanswered questions also help identify where documentation or company knowledge still needs to be added, so the knowledge base can become more complete over time.
How does Manuel become specific to our company?
We start with the technical environment your team actually works in: your equipment, relevant documentation and existing company knowledge. Historical work orders, internal instructions and practical technician knowledge can then be added to your private knowledge environment. You do not need to build or structure a knowledge base yourself before getting started.
How do you measure the 250–500 service hours?
We establish a baseline before rollout and compare it with the way technicians work after adopting Manuel. We look at metrics such as time to find technical answers, technical help calls, independent resolution and knowledge coverage. Where reliable operational data is available, we can also include first-time-fix and repeat visits.

Recovered hours are calculated from the difference between the existing workflow and the Manuel-assisted workflow for comparable technical tasks. We do not count app opens or simply multiply every question by an assumed saving. Where a metric cannot be measured reliably, we do not present it as measured impact.
Baseline before rollout
Comparable measurement after rollout
Difference in time & dependency
Estimated hours recovered
Illustrative range, not a guarantee — the measured outcome depends on your workflows and adoption.
How much work does implementation require from our team?
The goal is to make implementation lightweight for the service organisation. We establish the baseline, map the relevant equipment and knowledge sources, prepare the initial Manuel environment and then onboard technicians and the service desk. From there, usage and missing knowledge guide what should be improved next.
Does Manuel replace our service desk or experienced technicians?
No. Manuel makes their knowledge scalable. Routine technical questions can be answered without repeatedly interrupting the same experienced people, while the service desk and senior technicians remain available for the situations that genuinely require their expertise.

Make your best technical knowledge available on every job.
